‘‘I always tell my patients who are nervous that although this may not be their favorite thing to do, it is something we must do for the rest of our lives and we can have fun along the way!”

Dr. Wyke was born and raised in Philadelphia. She met her husband, David, in dental school, and the couple made the Lehigh Valley their home in 1998. Together, they have two wonderful children, a son, Craig, and a daughter, Charlie. They are the couple’s greatest accomplishment. Together, the Wyke family enjoys traveling and spending time at the shore. They are also big sports fans. Many of her patients love seeing them at the Iron Pigs or Phantoms.

Growing up her parents placed a strong emphasis on education, which led to Dr. Wyke becoming the first in her family to go to college. She then went to dental school and furthered her knowledge by obtaining specialist pediatric dentistry education.

Since the fourth grade, Dr. Wyke has wanted to be a dentist. She developed this interest because she loved going to her pediatric dentist when she was growing up. The idea of being able to help people stay healthy and smile really appealed to her. Her parents encouraged her to work hard and were always there to cheer her on!

Now as a successful pediatric dentist in Bethlehem, PA, Dr. Wyke loves getting to know her patients and watching them grow up. She wants to be an example to young men and women who wish to pursue dentistry. In fact, four of her patients have gone on to become dentists!

Pam is smiling and proud to be on our dental team
Pam Snyder

Dental Hygienist

Growing up in Bethlehem, Pam has worked in the dental field since the age of 14. As a child, Pam was fearful of the dentist. Her parents did everything to help her overcome this fear, even taking a taxi to the dental office so it was more fun! Her experience being scared really helps her understand how some children feel when they visit the office.

She finds it so rewarding to see a child go from being fearful to being excited. In fact, sometimes it is the same patient who was in tears during their first visit that now gives her hugs when he/she leaves. Pam finds it such an awesome experience seeing a child smile at the end of their appointment.

When not making kids smile, Pam enjoys spending time with her husband Blaine and daughter Alison. She enjoys crafts, such as scrapbooking and card making. She loves to cook and try new recipes. She also likes to travel, especially trips to the beach and Disney!

FUN FACTS

Who is your hero? My hero is my Dad. He was so patient and never raised his voice and explained everything. He lived until his 80’s and enjoyed life every day and always took the time to be nice to people. I hope that people who know me say I am a lot like my Dad.

What “lesson from mom” do you still live by? This is silly but my Dad would always say ‘when all else fails, read the directions.’

What flavor ice cream would you be? My favorite is mint chocolate chip but I would like to be birthday cake! Because who doesn’t like birthday cakes and birthday parties? It’s always a happy time and makes everyone happy.

Joann is on a team as a dental assistant and is shown smiling
Joann Koch

Dental Assistant

Joann has been married to her husband, John, for over 30 years. She lives in Bethlehem Township and has two daughters and son – and has nine grandchildren! Joann has been a dental assistant since 1974 and has been at Dr. Wyke’s office since the beginning.

She chose dentistry as she wanted to do something in the medical field. Joann splits her time between a general dentist’s office and our pediatric office.

Working with children is something she finds super rewarding, especially when they leave smiling. Joann loves interacting with our patients and listening to their stories – there is truly never a dull moment.

Outside of the office, she loves going to the beach, watching her grandchildren in sporting events, swimming, and family picnics.

FUN FACTS

Who is your hero? My father for serving our country in WWII.

What “lesson from mom” do you still live by? Mom always said live each day to your fullest because you never know what tomorrow brings!

What flavor ice cream would you be? Chocolate walnut.

Where do I begin! My children have been patients of Dr. Wyke for over 7 years now, and we travel over 45 minutes to her practice. Dr. Wyke and her team are AMAZING... compassionate, caring and knowledgeable!
